VVillage Reconstruction Movement (VRM) is a non-profit social service organization established in 1990 with the mission of uplifting poor and underprivileged communities across rural and urban areas of Tamil Nadu. Registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, VRM has been actively working toward sustainable community development, environmental protection, women empowerment, education, youth welfare, and poverty alleviation. Our organization was founded by a group of socially committed unemployed youth who aimed to create long-term positive change in society through awareness programs, training initiatives, and community welfare activities.
VRM focuses on key development sectors including education, healthcare, environmental conservation, tribal welfare, water resource management, women empowerment, urban and rural development, youth affairs, and socio-economic improvement.
VRM promotes sandalwood plantation projects in Panchamalai Hills and nearby rural villages by supporting selected farmers with awareness, planning, and environmental guidance. These eco-friendly plantation projects improve green cover, generate future economic opportunities for farmers, and contribute to biodiversity conservation in Tamil Nadu.
Women empowerment is one of the major objectives of VRM. We organize awareness programs, skill development training, self-help group activities, and economic development initiatives for women in districts including Trichy, Pudhukkottai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, and Thanjavur. Through leadership training and financial awareness programs, women are encouraged to become self-reliant, confident, and socially empowered. VRM also supports rural women through micro-finance activities, entrepreneurship guidance, and welfare programs that improve their standard of living and family development.
VRM conducts environmental awareness programs for school and college students to encourage green living and environmental responsibility. Students actively participate in tree plantation drives, eco-club activities, awareness rallies, slogan campaigns, poster presentations, and environmental safety programs. Through these activities, children learn the importance of protecting nature, conserving resources, and creating a pollution-free future for upcoming generations.
VRM also act as co-ordination agency. We provide awareness to peoples with the help of forest offices for tree plantation plan in private lands. In villages we give awareness through entertainment events. and the required information gathered and followed.
VRM supports women self-help groups (SHGs) through training programs, financial literacy initiatives, leadership development activities, and income generation guidance. Women from Trichy, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Pudhukkottai, and nearby districts participate in empowerment programs that help them improve economic independence, social confidence, and community participation.
VRM Trust conducts Student Environment Awareness Programs to educate students about environmental protection, sustainable development, and the importance of maintaining a safe and green environment. Through eco-awareness camps, tree plantation drives, environmental education activities, and interactive programs, students are encouraged to actively participate in protecting nature and conserving natural resources. These initiatives help young minds understand climate responsibility, biodiversity conservation, pollution control, and eco-friendly living practices. Our environmental awareness camps also inspire students to become future leaders in creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier society for upcoming generations.
VRM conducts yoga training programs, youth welfare activities, and health awareness camps to improve physical and mental well-being among rural communities. Yoga sessions help individuals maintain healthy lifestyles, reduce stress, improve flexibility, and enhance mental peace. We also organize homeopathy health camps and public healthcare awareness programs that provide affordable and natural healthcare support for common people living in villages and semi-urban areas.
VRM Trust regularly conducts Homeopathy Health Camps in Trichy and surrounding rural areas to promote natural healthcare and wellness among the public. Our homeopathy medical camps provide safe, affordable, and side-effect-free treatment solutions for common health issues while creating awareness about preventive healthcare and healthy living practices. Through experienced practitioners and community outreach programs, we help rural families, women, senior citizens, and economically weaker communities access quality healthcare services. These health awareness initiatives improve public confidence, encourage healthier lifestyles, and support the overall well-being of people living in villages and urban communities across Tamil Nadu.
VRM actively promotes tree plantation and environmental protection programs in villages and private lands across Tamil Nadu. With the support of forest departments and local communities, we create awareness about the importance of afforestation, biodiversity conservation, climate protection, and sustainable agriculture. Farmers are encouraged to cultivate long-rotation trees and eco-friendly plantations that improve soil quality and provide long-term economic benefits. Our sandalwood plantation initiatives in Panchamalai Hills and nearby rural regions have created new opportunities for farmers while contributing to green environmental development.
